at one time the Potawatomi, Odawa, & Ojibwe were one people, it is said that we separated at the Sault St. Marie, MI area somewhere around 1500 AD. It was then that we separated & took different responsibilites for when we had councils. The Ojibwe are keepers of the faith & tradition, the Odawa are keepers of the trade, & our responsibility as Potawatomi is keepers of the fire.
