Julia Pokagon at Chief Menominee statue dedication

Cultural Narrative: 

Julia Pokagon (located at the bottom of the statue) was the granddaughter to Simon Pokagon. Julia married Mike Quigno (pictured in regalia next to her) their two children Catherine & Joseph are located in front of her. The statue was dedicated to the nearby historical village led by chief Menominee in 1909. Menominee's village was forcibly removed by the US government at gunpoint in 1838 which later would be known as the Potawatomi Trail of Death
